Experience our new Digistar 5 Digital Planetarium system. This new system is the most advanced planetarium system in the world, with capabilities including full stereoscopic 3D shows, astronomical simulations, real-time 3D graphics rendering and many other features.  On the Rise: Student Artists of the Permian Basin 

April 1st-23rd

Celebrate the talents of Midland’s youngest artists and their teachers. Elementary through high school students are represented in this annual exhibition through a variety of media including drawing, painting and sculpture.  Fill the Boot

 April 3rd, 5th, & 7th

The Midland Fire Department is wanting your help to fill the boot in another campaign to benefit muscular dystrophy. Firefighters will be across town at several locations on April 3, April 5 and April 7 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

 

Those locations are at the intersections of: Midkiff Rd. and Wadley Ave., Midland Dr. and Andrews Highway, Midland Dr. and Loop 250 and Garfield St. and Golf Course Rd.

 

Their goal for this year is to raise $110,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

This STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics) educational programming is a great way to get your kids excited about learning. Open to kids in grades K-6.

Basin PBS Indie Lens Pop-Up: National Bird

Join Basin PBS at Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 3301 Neely in Midland, on April 4th starting at 6:30, for their next Indie Lens Pop-Up a free community screening event when we watch and discuss: NATIONAL BIRD. A film by Sonia Kennebeck, National Bird follows whistleblowers who, despite possible consequences, are determined to break the silence around one of the most controversial issues of our time: the secret U.S. drone war. The film gives rare insight through the eyes of both survivors and veterans who suffer from PTSD while plagued by guilt over participating in the killing of faceless people in foreign countries. Old Sorehead Trade Days is the best little show in West Texas (if you can call 615 booths and 30,000 visitors "little"). Stanton hosts Trade Days three times a year, six days of wonderful shopping. Bunny Breakfast and Easter Bunny Photos

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

April 9th 

In a house on Egypt Street, there once lived a rabbit named Edward Tulane. Gifted to a girl named Abilene, he was treated well and loved beyond belief. As a result, Edward became vain and cold. One day; however, he was separated from Abilene and his world was turned upside down. Adapted from the 2006 children's book, the whole family can enjoy Edward's epic adventure. The annual City of Odessa Parks & Recreation Easter Spring Fling will look to have another large crowd this year!  Our family-oriented Easter Spring Fling will take place on Saturday, April 15th at UTPB Park - E. The Cognitions Collective presents a fully interactive platform for networking and expanding opportunities for artists within the community, city, and state.  Earth Day Celebration with MDFM

Music on the Porch will be the one and only Midlandaires so make plans to stay a while!  We're teaming up with Keep Midland Beautiful to bring you lots of fun and exciting activities to celebrate Earth Day! The DELL - They will be making beautiful beads from magazines and they will be giving out free Midland Downtown Farmers Market shopping bags!  YMCA Healthy Kids Day

The Midland YMCA will host Healthy Kids Day while many local organizations will be present to share information on summer programming for area youth. The Y staff will be on hand to talk about Y summer camp, help with registration, our youth program, including swimming lessons and youth sports. Healthy activities such as inflatable obstacle course, Half-Pint Kids Triathlon, Pine Car Derby, Bubble Bumpers, Yoga, Smoothie Station, Hair-Cuts, a Photo Booth and the Farmers Market will be available for all the enjoy.
