October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month which is an annual campaign to raise awareness about Cyber Security. Click here to follow our campaign or visit Money University to learn about other various topics.

 Free Skateboarding Lessons


RTD Skatepark hosts free skateboarding lessons every Saturday from noon to 1pm. Contact Ulises Frallicciardi for more information at RTD Skatepark is located at 2000 S. FM 1788 in Midland.

Fiddlesticks Farm 

Oct. 1st 

Fiddlesticks Farms open for the season on October 1st. The cornfield maze and more than 25 courtyard attractions are a perfect adventure for all ages. The young or young at heart, will enjoy our farm-related outdoor activities, scrum-dittly-umptious food … and campfires! See more at:

National Night Out 

Oct. 4th, 6pm-9pm 

In both Midland and Odessa, National Night Out is scheduled for October 4th from 6pm-9pm.  National Night Out is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime partnerships: and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. 

 6th Annual Basin BBQ Blowout

Oct. 5th-6th

Each Fall, over a hundred local businessmen and women step out of their offices and sally up to the grill. Collars loosened, aprons tightened, they are ready to smoke it out for the title Best BBQ of the Basin. Competitors bring their own equipment, ranging from modest smokers to full mobile-kitchens, and set up side-by-side. Located in Downtown Odessa at 5th & Jackson.  CNB Pancake Breakfast for United Way

Oct. 7th, 8am - 9:30am 

CNB is hosting a Pancake Breakfast for United Way - $5 for a short stack (3), sausage and juice.  Held at 401 W. Texas Avenue in Midland in the Coffee Shop on the 1st Floor from 8am until 9:30.

 Stanton Sore Head Trade Days

 Oct. 8th - 9th

Old Sorehead Trade Days is the best little show in West Texas (if you can call 615 booths and 30,000 visitors "little"). Stanton hosts Trade Days three times a year, six days of wonderful shopping. Shows are scheduled the second weekend in April, June and October. Shows are Saturdays 9 AM to 6 PM and Sundays Noon to 5 PM. See more at:

 St. Luke's Pumpkin Patch

 Oct. 10th - 31st

Join us this year at the patch! Hours are Monday- Saturday 11:00am-6:00pm, and Sunday’s noon-5:00pm. Come for the pumpkins, the coloring sheets, cool stickers, stories, and much more! Cookies & Canvas 

 Oct. 13th

Cookies & Canvas is a step-by-step instructional painting event for Children ages 5 and up.  Painting and socializing over cookies will expand creativity and instill confidence in young artists.  Even if you are not Picasso, anyone of any skill level can participate and have a great time! Each event will be from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Sherwood Community Center - 4819 N. Everglade, in Odessa. See more at:

Flip for a Cause 

 Oct. 15th, 9:30am

Join the Midland YMCA as we "Flip For A Cause." October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we invite you to come out and show your support. Obstacle Course at 9:30am Tire Flip Competition (two-person team and individual competitions!) at 11:00am $25.00 registration fee ($10 from every registration benefits Gifts of Hope, Midland) Register at the front desk by October 7th and you are guaranteed a t-shirt! CNB Baked Potato Bar for United Way 

 Oct. 21st, 11am - 1pm

CNB is hosting a Baked Potato Bar for United Way - $10 for one baked potato and all the fixings. Held at 401 W. Texas Avenue in Midland in the Coffee Shop on the 1st Floor from 11am until 1pm.

Fall Festival in Odessa 

 Oct. 22nd, 1pm-7pm

Thousands come to enjoy the festivities all afternoon and well into the night.  Mark your calendars for this year's Fall Festival at McKinney Park, 625 W Pool Rd (off of Interstate-20 and Highway 385), October 22, 2016, 1:00pm - 7:00pm. CNB Bake Sale for United Way 

 Oct. 28th, 9am

CNB is hosting a Bake Sale for United Way in the Texas Branch Lobby at 401 W. Texas Avenue in Midland. The Bake Sale will start at 9am and will run until all the goodies are gone.

Runnin' Fur Rescues 5K Fun Run/Walk 

Oct. 29th, 8:30am 

Runnin' Fur Rescues 5K Fun Run/Walk hosted by Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals. Lone Star is a non-profit, no-kill animal sanctuary in Midland. Participants are encouraged to bring their furry friends and dress up for great chances to win prizes! There is also a Halloween Picture Booth, activities for kids, raffles for great prizes, live music, "mocktails" provided by The Blue Door, and lots of fun for the entire family. We also offer micro chipping for dogs or cats to the general public at a reduced cost that day. See more at: 


Oct. 29th, 4pm - 7pm 

BooFest is a free family-friendly Halloween celebration starting at Noel Heritage Plaza and ending on Grant Avenue. Noel Heritage Plaza is located at 301 W. 5th Street in Downtown Odessa. 

BooFest will feature games and family-friendly activities starting at 4 p.m. in Noel Heritage Plaza. The Zombie Brigade of Odessa will kick-off their Zombie Walk from the Plaza to Grant Avenue at 7 p.m. and Downtown businesses along Grant Avenue from 4th to 6th Streets will be open giving out candy and treats to trick o' treaters starting at 7 p.m. There will be food trucks along Grant Avenue.

Fall Family Festival
