 Midland Downtown Farmers Market

 Saturdays in October

Midland Downtown Farmers' Market - bringing locally grown and produced food to the Permian Basin community. From fresh fruits and vegetables, home made breads and sweets, jams, jellies, and salsas - you will find everything you need to savor the local flavor every Saturday morning! Every one of our vendors has personally made or grown what you see at their booths, so when you ask, "what's in this?" or "does this contain...?" the person you are talking to KNOWS because they made it. When is the last time you knew where YOUR food came from? Saturday mornings at 1705 W. Missouri Ave. in Midland from 8:30 to 12:30

7th Annual Basin BBQ Blowout

October 5th

Each Fall, over a hundred local businessmen and women step out of their offices and sally up to the grill. Collars loosened, aprons tightened, they are ready to smoke it out for the title Best BBQ of the Basin. Competitors bring their own equipment, ranging from modest smokers to full mobile-kitchens, and set up side-by-side. Teams (most from companies outside the food industry) compete in one or more of the following categories: Best Chicken, Best Ribs, Best Brisket, and Best “Other” Meat. The winners are revealed at the Basin BBQ Blowout’s general admission event. It’s networking, the West Texas way.
