  • Coke Floats:  Oct. 24th at 2pm at the Texas Branch (401 W. Texas, Midland) and Oct. 10th 2pm at the Tremont Branch (5329 W. Loop 250 N, Midland)
  • Bake Sale:  Oct. 31st at participating branches. Ask your favorite branch if they are participating in the Bake Sale.

The Midland Downtown Farmers' Market is a family and pet friendly activity every Saturday morning at 501 W. Texas Ave. in beautiful downtown Midland. We have fresh local produce, local gourmet foods, and so much more! Opens at 8am.

October 11th - 12th

The Commemorative Air Force's AIRSHO, is an Airshow held at Midland International Airport in Midland, Texas. The CAF's first AIRSHO was held in 1963, making it one of the oldest Airshows in the country. AIRSHO is also known as "The Best Warbird Show in America." The CAF currently has 164 warbird aircraft in the fleet, many of which attend AIRSHO. In addition to one of the most impressive flying displays of vintage military aircraft, you'll also see some of the most popular civilian aerobatic performers.  AIRSHO offers visitors a chance to get close to the aircraft and see them perform in ways you won't experience anywhere else.

Old Sorehead Trade Days

October 11th - 12th

Old Sorehead Trade Days gathers vendors from all over Texas and the southwest. If you can imagine it, you can find it at Old Sorehead Trade Days. Woodcrafts, wearable art, hand-poured candles, metal art -- the list goes on and on! Shows are Saturdays 9 AM to 6 PM and Sundays Noon to 5 PM

 Odessa Fall Festival

October 11th 

This Free event is hosted by Chevron and the City of Odessa Parks & Recreation Department. Event hours are from 3p-9p - Located at McKinney Park, 625 W Pool Rd in Odessa. Come enjoy a great time with your family and friends. There will be children's games, arts & crafts, face painting, zip line rides, rock wall climbing, food and drink vendors, and live entertainment. Don't forget about the Hot Air Balloon rides and Fun Contests - Children's Costumes (ages 0-10 yrs), Pie Eating Contest, and Pre-Carved Pumpkin Contest.

Superhero Run

October 14th

This is the 2nd annual Superhero Run benefitting the Blake Nichols Memorial Scholarship Fund. This year's race will be a neon night 5K Run/Walk in conjunction with our "Superheroes Come Out at Night" theme. It is a time chipped event that is both family and pet friendly. It will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Midland College. Registration is at 6pm and the race begins at 7pm. Committed to honoring the life and heart of Blake Nichols, our program's mission is to inspire High School athletes to continue to pursue their education with the same passion and dedication they have for sports. We achieve this by funding scholarships through donations and runner entry fees raised by the Superhero Run. Since the program's founding in 2007, we have been able to give over $40,000 in scholarships to aid students in furthering their education.  $25 Registration fee Payable to Blake Nichols Memorial Scholarship Fund. Texas-Size Garage Sale

October 17th - 19th

This event helps fund a third of the 140,000 Meals-On-Wheels delivered to the homebound seniors of Midland per year. Through the program, the elderly are visited Monday- Friday by a friendly volunteer that checks on the well-being of the client and brings a hot, nutritious meal. Early Bird Sale-Friday Oct.19th from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. Saturday Sale- Saturday 8:30- 3 p.m. Half-Price Sale- Sunday 2 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.  Located at the Meals on Wheels Warehouse at 407 E. Scharbauer in Midland.

Permian Basin International Oil Show

October 21st - 23rd

For 70 years, the working men and women of our oil and gas industry have counted on the Permian Basin International Oil Show as the place to be to stay on top of the latest product developments, services and technologies. Maximizing the ROI is more important than ever to keep our industry vital and vibrant. Held at the Ector County Coliseum.

Midland County Public Library - Trunk or Treat 

 October 25th

Free family event with jumpers, refreshments, face painting, and other activities at the Downtown Library Parking Lot at 301 W. Missouri Ave. in Midland from 11am-1pm.  If you would like to volunteer to help with the event or your trunk, please sign up by Oct. 11th by contacting the library's Youth Services Department at 688-4323 or 745-7445.
