 Midland Downtown Farmer's Market

 Saturdays April - October

The mission of the Midland Downtown Farmers' Market is to create a sense of community as well as promote local businesses, artisans, and producers. Our goal is to not only offer an outlet for these products but to also bring the community together for an event that celebrates our local diversity and choice. We congregate in downtown Midland, TX every Saturday from the first Saturday in April until the last Saturday in October. Now located at 1705 W. Missouri Avenue on the lawn of the Museum of the Southwest. Open from 8:30am - 12:30pm each Saturday. See more at:

RTD Skatepark - Free Group Lessons 


Want to learn how to skate or just need help landing that new trick? Then join us every Saturday morning from 9am to noon for our FREE group lessons included with every paid admission. All ages and levels are welcome. RTD Skatepark is located at 2000 S FM 1788 in Midland. - See more at:

 Fiesta West Texas

May 1st - 3rd 

Fiesta West Texas is the most anticipated family-centered event celebrating the Hispanic culture, drawing large crowds of over 35,000 last year.  Since its founding in 1996, the Cinco de Mayo event has grown to become the Permian Basin’s largest and longest running Hispanic cultural  celebration.

Utilizing the 42-acres of the Ector County Coliseum fairgrounds, the event has expanded to include a multiple live entertainment stages, a full  carnival, and team roping. The three-day event festival also includes nightly concerts on the main stage with nationally recognized performers,  variety of foods,  exhibitors/displays, carnival rides and games, interactive animal shows, children’s pageant, contests and much more!  80's Costume 5K and Disco Fun Run

May 2nd - 8:30am 

The 80’s Costume 5K and Disco Fun Run will be held on Saturday, May 2 at the Petroleum Museum (1500 W. Interstate 20). Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. The entry fee is either $10 or 10 canned food items. The race will be a chip timed event. The City of Midland will give away 1,000 tree seedlings, and the Petroleum Museum will be hosting a car show during the event. See more at:

OLG 2015 Jamaica 

 May 2nd - 3rd

Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Shrine is hosting the 2015 Jamaica at 1401 E. Garden Lane in Midland on May 2nd and 3rd. This family fun filled event is open to the public for all to attend. Come enjoy the music, food, and games. There is also a Raffle that includes prizes of GE Washer and Dryer, Patio Furniture, XBOX360, BBQ Pit, 52" TV and more. Grand prize is a 2014 F150 Super Crew Cab Truck. Tickets are $3 each. The Raffle will be held on Sunday, May 3rd at 10pm and you do not need to be present to win. See more at:

 Crude Fest

May 14th - 16th 

Crude Fest, located just outside of Midland, Texas, is produced by Townsquare Media and is one of the premier music festivals in West Texas, featuring some of the biggest names from the Texas Red Dirt Country music genre. Now in its sixth year, the three day oil and gas industry celebration attracts tens of thousands of Texas country music fans to enjoy over twenty artists and camp within one of the festival’s thousand plus campsites each May. The event has been established as a yearly tradition that draws people from as far away as Ohio, Montana, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and even a few from as far away as Canada. See more at:

MFD Strong Man & Woman Competition 

May 16th - 9am - 1pm 

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 at Heroes Fitness (4400 N. Midland Dr.), and the Midland Fire Department hopes to host the event on an annual basis to help others in the community. This year’s proceeds will be donated to the family of Midland firefighter Aaron Hughes, who passed away last week after a yearlong battle with cancer. Men and women will each have three timed events to complete, and can compete as individuals or in a team of five. Each person participating individually or on a team must pay a registration fee of $30. Children are welcome to participate in three non-timed events for free. 18th Annual Ragin' Cajun Event

May 16th - 4pm - 10pm

“Ragin Cajun” fundraiser for Special Olympics on Saturday, May 16th from 4:00 to 10:00 at the Commemorative Air Force Hanger.  Music, dancing, Cajun food and live and silent auctions.  - See more at:

2nd Chance Prom 

 May 23th - 8pm

Together we will recreate one of the greatest events from High School. Guests will come dressed in their best formal attire and dance the night away. If your business is interested in sponsoring 2nd Chance Prom please call Cynthia at 432-563-9300. A bar and food will be available for purchase. Attendees must be 21 and older with a valid ID. All sales are final. Event will take place at the Midland Center at 105 N Main St. in Midland.
