Fridays

Free Skateboarding Lessons on Saturdays

Saturdays

 Summer Movie Camps (Petroleum Museum)

Tuesdays 

The Petroleum Museum’s Movie Camps are the perfect getaway this summer for children ages 5 and up!  Each camp will include a fun animated movie and a creative activity, as well as popcorn for only $5 per child! Movie Camps take place every Tuesday from June 7th – August 9th and have two time options per day: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm OR 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm.  Summer Science Classes(Petroleum Museum) 

Fridays 

Summer Classes are offered to children entering 2nd through 6th grade. The kids will engage in age-appropriate experiments and creative activities focused around a scientific theme. These fun-filled classes will be on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The cost per student is only $25 for Petroleum Museum members or $30 for non-members. Registration is open online at pbpetro.org. 

 Firecracker Fandango (Odessa)

 July 2nd

Firecracker Fandango is Odessa’s longest-running patriotic street festival and Downtown Odessa, Inc.’s largest fundraiser of the year. All sponsorship dollars go toward event costs and 100% of profit from the event funds revitalization projects for Downtown Odessa.  On July 2, 2016, Downtown Odessa, Inc. and the City of Odessa will once again host the annual Firecracker Fandango celebration on Grant Avenue between 2nd and 5th street.  See more at: http://www.odessa-tx.gov/index.aspx?page=568

 Star Spangled Salute

July 4th 

Be sure to come out and join us for the 2016 Star Spangled Salute in Midland on Independence Day. All events will take place at Hogan Park in Midland. The festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with the 54th Annual Children's Sidewalk Parade. The fun continues in the evening with concerts beginning at 7 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m. There will be food vendors, a beer garden and even a fun zone for the kids.  Date 'Til 8 @ Petroleum Museum

GATHER THE WHOLE FAMILY AND enjoy educational, fun activities based on themes that foster creativity and a love of learning. Sessions are designed for children ages 4 through 12 years old; though the whole family is encouraged to join in on the merriment as a variety of activities will be offered simultaneously. All Family Friday “come and go” sessions are held in the Blakemore Planetarium’s Brown Science Center, located on the Museum grounds, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are free with paid admission or Museum membership. Family Fridays are made possible by RBC Wealth Management and the Union Pacific Foundation.

 SciFriday: Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

THEY'RE SO BAD, they're actually good. SciFridays in 2016 explore the classic movies you love to hate. Bring your friends and don't be late - films begin at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7 p.m. SciFridays are free and open to the public, but please note film ratings and be cautious when bringing young children.  Tall City Blues Fest

 July 8th-9th

Tall City Blues Fest offers both an outdoor and indoor stage showcasing award-winning performers in a family-friendly environment. The Fest also hosts educational workshops in partnership with Midland College, where 100% of the registration proceeds are donated to KIDS' College; a midnight spectator jam and a Sunday Gospel Brunch, presented by Macedonia Baptist Church.  See more at: http://www.tallcitybluesfest.com/
