Rock the Desert

Aug. 4th - 6th 

This annual multi-day festival attracts over fifty thousand Christian music fans. Friday nights feature praise and worship, Saturday has inspirational rock and roll. Also featured; skateboarding, sports tents, family speakers, youth leader training extreme games, kid’s activities, a prayer tent and ‘Talk Back Live’ with bands. - See more at: http://www.rockthedesert.com/

 2016 Hot Summer Nights Concert: White Ghost Shivers

Downtown Odessa, Inc. and the Odessa Council for Arts & Humanities are working on selecting artists for the upcoming 2016 Hot Summer Nights Concert Series. In addition to the exceptional musical acts that have become the hallmark of this free outdoor concert series, this year will see the addition of food trucks from the Midessa Mobile Food Vendors Association, as well as children's activities! Science Wars - Astronomy 

Aug. 5th 

Summer Classes are offered to children entering 2nd through 6th grade. The kids will engage in age-appropriate experiments and creative activities focused around a scientific theme. These fun-filled classes will be on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The cost per student is only $25 for Petroleum Museum members or $30 for non-members. Free concerts are provided throughout the summer on the following Sunday evenings and feature a variety of music from bands with local roots. “An Evening With …” is a fundraiser for Centers for Children and Families. The sixteenth annual special event benefitting Centers for Children and Families. The event features a celebrity speaker TBA with dinner catered by Perini Ranch of Buffalo Gap. 25th Anniversary of AIRSHO in Midland; 1st year the CAF High Sky Wing has produced the show without CAF Headquarters.  (Ground Breaking, Open House, Grand Opening, Dedication, Anniversary, etc.)
