Star Spangled Salute Freedom Run

Inaugural 5k and 10k Freedom Run. Registration is at 6:45am - Midland County Courthouse: 500 N. Loraine.

4th of July - 9th Annual Car, Truck, & Bike Show


July 4th


9am- 4pm


The 4th of July Car Show will be held at the Green Tree Country Club in Midland, Texas. Food booths open at 11:30, face painting (free) for the kids at Noon and other activities for children, free for kids. The Disc Jockey begins at 11AM and the car show begins at 9AM. Awards, door prizes, food booths and open to the public for free. $15 to show your car and registration forms can be picked up at Green Tree County Club.


52nd Annual Children's Sidewalk Parade

July 4th


Registration begins at 9:00am in the parking lot at the corner of Baird & Illinois (Parade will end at Centennial Plaza)
Sidewalk vehicles such as wagons, tricycles, bicycles, strollers and Big Wheels allowed. Participants will be divided into age categories birth-12years. Sponsored by: Col. Theunis Dey Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution

Midland Star Spangled Salute 2014

July 4th


This family friendly event is open to the public with no admission charge.  Community Independence Day celebration featuring kids activities, live music, and a spectacular fireworks display. Food vendors and a beer garden will be available on site. Bring a lawn chair and your patriotism to enjoy the fun. Located in downtown Midland - Centennial Plaza & Midland Center.

Firecracker Fandango 

July 4th


On July 4th, Main Street Odessa will have the pleasure of hosting the “Firecracker Fandango” celebration. This community wide festival begins at 10:00 a.m. with an Odessa tradition - the Jaycees’ Independence Day Parade.  It starts at O.C. and finishes at ECISD's Admin Building on 9th Street. Later at 3:00 p.m., the gates will open for the family festival, featuring live entertainment, children’s activities, food booths, exhibits and much more. The highlight of the evening will be an exciting choreographed fireworks display launched from downtown, and viewed by more than 20,000 people.  

Hot Summer Nights - Concert Series: Jumping Giants

Odessa Farmer's Market

July 12th (2nd Saturday of Each Month)



The Odessa Texas Farmers Market is providing fresh, locally grown produce and local products all from the Permian Basin. Don't miss out on their Cooking Demonstrations, Kids Activities, and Live Music! Located in the Medical Center Hospital Campus (corner of 2nd and Golder in Odessa) on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9am-12pm. The Odessa, Texas Farmers Market's goal is to promote health and wellness to our region by providing a Farmers Market where the community can purchase a variety of locally-grown, farm-fresh produce and related products.  The Market supports our local farmers, agriculture and our economy. The Market also educates our region of benefits of healthy eating as well as provides a healthy alternative to feed our growing community.  The Market is a collaborative commitment between Medical Center Health System and West Texas Food Bank to serve a basic need in our region - to feed the hungry.

Old Settler's Reunion - Stanton

July 12th




The Old Settler's Reunion will be held at Historic Downtown Stanton. There will be a Downtown Parade at 10am, Games at the Community Center at 10:30am, Evening meal will be held at the Community Center, tickets are $10 each, at 6pm, and the Program will be held at 7pm at the Community Center. 

Boulevard Nights Car Show

July 19th



Presented by Impalas Car Club, West Texas Boulevard Nights Car Show will be held at the Midland Horseshoe Arena in Midland, Texas. Show will be from 12pm-10pm. Admission is $25; Children 8 years and younger are free. Partial proceeds will go to Lilly Sophia Orosco with Down Syndrome. Lowrider Magazine and Vibe Models will be in attendance.  For information on the Show, contact Eric Mancha (432) 202-1234. Old Hwy 80 Huacha Tournament

Old Highway 80 Huacha (Washer) Tournament will be held at 2201 E. Front Street, Midland, Texas. Partial proceeds will go to Relay For Life. 1pm - Singles Tournament ($20 per person) and 3pm - Doubles Tournament ($50 per Team).  Bring your chairs and shade. Jumpers, Raffles, and Music. Texas Permian Basin Honor Flight Bake Sale

There will be a Bake Sale benefitting Texas Permian Basin Honor Flight. Texas Permian Basin Honor Flight takes WWII, Korea, & Vietnam veterans to see the memorials built in their honor; on an all expense paid trip to Washington DC. Tall City Blues Fest 

July 25-27th



Tall City Blues Fest 2014, presented by Mazda Midland/Odessa, will be held July 25-27, 2014.  The Fest is a multi-stage Blues music festival held in Centennial Plaza (Downtown Midland, TX). In addition to hosting award-winning performers across multiple stages, Tall City Blues Fest also hosts educational workshops*, a silent art auction, a midnight spectator jam, a Gospel Brunch and an autographed memorabilia raffle.  Our Mission is to create irresistible fun in a family-friendly environment that contributes positively to the West Texas quality of life.  *Educational workshops are in partnership with Midland College and registration proceeds go toward providing scholarships for KIDS’ College.
