 Hot Summer Nights

Friday's

Hot Summer Nights is a free outdoor concert series with a children's play area and food trucks. Volunteers from First United Methodist Church will also be shuttling attendees from parking areas to the concert via golf cart. Midland Downtown Farmers Market

Grab a lawn chair, cooler and friends and join us on the front lawn of the historic Turner Mansion for the 31st season of Summer Sunday Lawn Concerts. Boys and Girls club Donations

Donations will be taken at all CNB branches in Midland during the month of July.  The Donations will be given by United Way of Midland to the Boys and Girls Club at an event on August 11th.

Summer Mummers

July

Summer Mummers is a yearly production presented at the historic Yucca Theater in downtown Midland, Texas. The nightly show consists of a locally written melodrama, followed by the Olio.   The production is held every Friday & Saturday evening from June 1st through Sept 1st.

Parks Legado Farmers Market

 Sibley Nature Center

Sibley's Growing from Nature Day Camps are for kids entering Kindergarten through 3rd grade. These camps help kids grow important life skills while playing outdoors. They will grow patience, teamwork, leadership, artistry, and more all while exploring the nature of West Texas! These camps are Wednesdays and Fridays in July and the first two weeks of August from 9 a.m. to noon. Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park is one of the main annual attractions that has become a tradition with most families in Odessa.  Skip the lines at the Theaters and enjoy FREE movies.  Don't forget about something to snack on, as we have concessions available at each movie. Freedom Run

5K & 10K

The 2018 Freedom Run will be the best yet! This year's race will feature a 5K & 10K ON JULY 4TH. Kick off Independence day through a great family race with some local competitive runners in attendance.  The Freedom Run exists to provide scholarships for City of Midland Employee dependents who are going to college. Petroleum Powered By Science Camp July 9-12 8:00 am-12:00 pm (Ages 8-12)

Discover the science behind the energy that powers our world at this science-packed, fun-filled camp for students ages 8-12. Students will explore various forms of energy through hands-on experiments, inventive projects, and creative robotic design. This powerful camp is held Monday through Thursday (July 9-12) from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The cost is $80 for Museum Members and $100 for Non-Members. Pre-registration is required. We would like to extend a special thank you to Apache Corporation for sponsoring our 2018 Summer Science Camps.

Planet Troopers 

July 14

KOB invites all children, ages 8 to 12, to join Planet Troopers and help cleanup our City parks this summer.  T-shirts, lunch and supplies will be provided to all registered children. Participants will also receive a KOB goodie bag and a seven (7) day pool pass valid at all City of Odessa aquatic facilities.  KOB will host three (3) cleanup opportunities for Planet Troopers between 10 a.m. and noon. “Petroleum Refining in Nontechnical Language” Video Presentation. Energy issues are increasingly challenging us each day. Refining plays a critical role in supply-and-demand and remains a vital component of our energy infrastructure. Dr. William Leffler is an industry veteran and author with more than 45 years of experience in the petroleum industry in upstream, downstream, and petrochemicals sectors. Leffler’s video presentation breaks down basic principles of refining as he walks through the refining process one procedure at a time. The first part of the video discusses the history of petroleum refining, from the oil patch to refinery and focuses on crude oil processes. The second section examines gasoline refining. Petroleum Rocks & Rockets Camp July 23-26 8:00 am-12:00 pm (Ages 8-12) Discover the wonders of earth and space as geology and astronomy collide at this science-packed, fun-filled camp for students ages 8-12. Students will dive deep into the depths of the earth and blast off into outer space as they learn about the solar system, volcanoes, earthquakes, and more through hands-on experiments, an interactive planetarium program, and creative robotic design. This out of this world camp is held Monday through Thursday (July 23-26) from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The cost is $80 for Museum Members and $100 for Non-Members. Pre-registration is required.
