New Museum Space & Exhibition Opening 

 March 1

You're invited to a special event at the new Midland County History Museum(200 N. Main st) hosted by the Midland County Historical Society.  In addition to viewing the new museum space, experience the new exhibition 'From Plans to Planes to Petroleum: Midland During World War II'. Jim Collett, Society President, will give a talk about the Society, the Museum, and the exhibition, Refreshments will be served. Dr. Seuss's  Birthday Celebration  

March 2 

 Join us in wishing Happy Birthday to beloved children's author, Dr. Seuss. The celebration will include cupcakes, games, crafts, and stories.  This event will be held on Saturday March 2nd from 12pm-2pm at the Centennial Library 2503 W.  Sibley Nature Center Camera Club

Sibley Nature Center Camera Club will meet on Saturday March 2nd from 10 am to 11:30 am at Sibley Nature Center. We will have demonstrations of water drop /splash photography. Members of the camera club will have the opportunity to do this.. So bring your cameras. As always we welcome anyone that is interested in photography to join us. To be a member of the Camera Club we ask that you make your yearly donation of $40.00 to Sibley Nature Center, and attend a few meeting and or outings... Building Bots  

March 5 

Building Bots enables children to engage in engineering challenges, team building, and robotic creative design. With different themes for each session, your child will love coming to every session! This STEAM (Science – Technology – Engineering – Art – Mathematics) educational programming is a great way to get your kids excited about learning. Equipment used includes Lego Robotics (WeDo 2.0 and Mindstorm EV3), Ozobots, Osmos, Spheros and NEW Tetrix Prime and Kubo. Open to students in grades K-6th.  Kindergarten – 2nd Grade (First Tuesdays) from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.  See more at https://petroleummuseum.org/building-bots/

Tales and Trails

Trees! 

 March 5

This program is designed for 2-4 year old children, and younger siblings are welcome. Tales and Trails is a Free Program with a suggested donation of $2. There is no need to register, just show up ready for fun.  Our next Program will be March 5th at 10 am and will be all about Trees!  Trees give us lumber, oxygen, shade, and something to climb! Trees also provide homes for lots of animals and critters. Join us for fun activities and interactive stories to learn all about how important trees are.  No registration is required*. Things take a turn for the gutter at Mafia Don Lou Zar's juice joint when someone is put on ice! The crowd is chock full of potential suspects. Jealous, jilted lovers, a rival Mafioso, and a pair of undercover feds make an appearance at this speakeasy and not a single person is muttering a word! Help find out who's on the level and who's on the lam by trading clues with your guests, gathering information, and solving the crime before the murderer hotfoots it out of there!  Dress for this night of murderous mayhem includes, flapper dresses, zoot suits, feather boas and headbands, pinstriped suits and fedoras. Attire for the event is 20's costumes or Formal wear.  Spring Break Camp

March 11 

The City of Midland Parks and Recreation Division will be hosting MLK Adventures Spring Break Camp during spring break 2019 (March 11-15). The camp is open to children between the ages of 6 and 12. The camp will start at 1 p.m. and end at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The charge will be $40/week.  We will have a variety of activities that stimulate creativity, entertainment, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Discovery Camp

This Spring Break discover the beauty of our unique West Texas home. Campers will explore various nature topics including; back to the basics, sustainability, camping, plant and animal identification, and so much more! PAW Patrol Live 

March 12 

PAW Patrol Live! sets sail with a pirate adventure in West Texas for two performances at Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center March 12 - 13, 2019.  It’s Pirate Day in Adventure Bay and Ryder will need all paws on deck as he and the PAW Patrol discover a secret treasure map while on a mission to rescue Cap’n Turbot from a mysterious cavern.  It’s up to Chase, Marshall, Skye, and all their heroic pirate pup friends to save the day and find the pirate treasure before Mayor Humdinger finds it first!  See more at https://www.wagnernoel.com/events/detail/paw-patrol-live-the-great-pirate-adventure

3rd Annual Permian Basin Spring Stampede Rodeo

It's Back! The Annual Basin Spring Stampede Rodeo is returning for it's 3rd year.
