Building Bots Robotics and Engineering Fun Lab engages tinkering minds to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and math.  This event is held from 5:30-7:30  Students K-2nd grades will participate in team building activities, engineering challenges, and creative robotic design. The theme for September's cooking demonstration is Simple Batch Cooking Basics! Attendees will learn how to batch cook meals and pantry staples.  This plant-based cooking demonstration is $15 per person, which includes food tastings and print-outs of the recipes used. Only 25 spots are available. There’s a new tenant at Armadillo Acres – and she’s wreaking havoc all over Florida’s most exclusive trailer park! Jeannie is an agoraphobic, Dr.Phil-loving shut in who hasn’t left her trailer in years due to a tragedy in her past. But when Pippi, “the stripper on the run” moves in and tries to come between her and her tollbooth collector husband, Jeannie has to find the strength to go outside her comfort zone and overcome her fears! Throw in a jealous ex-boyfriend and a Greek chorus of trailer park residents to watch and comment on all the action and you have a laugh-out-loud riot that’s sure to keep you on the edge of your seat!  This event starts at 7:30pm. YMCA Kids Color Fun Run

The YMCA of Midland is celebrating Back-to-School with physical activity, family fun, and a color run!  Come join the YMCA at the Tumbleweed Park for letting loose and kicking off the school year with a "blast of color!"For $15, your child will receive a white Y shirt, a color packet, and have fun walking, running, hopping or skipping all while getting blasted with color!  *T-shirt pickup begins at 9:30am 9/7/19 at Tumbleweed Park and will end at 9:55am.  Call the YMCA of Midland Texas for more information at 432-682-2551  See more at: http://midlandymca.org/

West Texas Food Bank

Ribbon cutting ceremony marking the launch of West Texas Food Bank's new truck fleet will be held at 3pm at    411 S Pagewood Ave. Odessa, TX.  West Texas Food Bank is a non-profit, non-governmental hunger relief organization. We are the largest collaborative non-profit agency in the Permian Basin, and proudly distribute donated and purchased food to children, families, and seniors through a network of 80+ partner agencies across 34,000 square miles of West Texas. 

Family Science Night

The Permian Basin Petroleum Museum proudly presents Family Science Night sponsored by Chevron. Families are invited to participate in hands-on science activities including science experiments and creative projects.  Explore the world of food science through hands-on, tastebud-activating experiments, demonstrations and creative activities that help explain the science behind food and cooking. Take a candy core sample, experiment with making your own ice cream, create grape invisible ink, and make edible slime! Permian Basin Heart Walk

American Heart Association Permian Basin Heart Walk, Join walkers from across our community as they step out to have fun, get inspired & support a meaningful cause. Registration begins at 8:00am and opening ceremonies will kick-off at 9:00am. There will be fun activities for the whole family. Kids and pets are welcome.

Child Safety Awareness Fair

D&D Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electrical has created a FREE event, Project Safe Child, dedicated to educating the community on safety awareness.

High Sky Wing Airsho 2019

AIRSHO is held annually at Midland International Air & Space Port in Midland/Odessa, Texas and hosted by the CAF High Sky Wing.  In addition to one of the most impressive flying displays of vintage military aircraft, you'll also see some of the most popular civilian aerobatic performers.  AIRSHO offers visitors a chance to get close to the aircraft and see them perform in ways you won't experience anywhere else.  In addition to a dazzling display of aircraft, you want to be sure to watch the CAF's Pyrotechnic Groups, award-winning groups of licensed pyrotechnic technicians, shake the ground with simulated bombing raids, strafing runs and the infamous "wall of fire." Watch history come alive before your very eyes (and ears!).  Food & beverage vendors, exhibitors & inflatables activities for the kids.  Gates will open at 8:30am n both Saturday & Sunday.  Rides are available for purchase in many of the aircraft.  For more info go to www.airsho.org
