 Midland Downtown Farmer's Market

 Saturdays April - October

The mission of the Midland Downtown Farmers' Market is to create a sense of community as well as promote local businesses, artisans, and producers. Our goal is to not only offer an outlet for these products but to also bring the community together for an event that celebrates our local diversity and choice. We congregate in downtown Midland, TX every Saturday from the first Saturday in April until the last Saturday in October. Now located at 1705 W. Missouri Avenue on the lawn of the Museum of the Southwest. Open from 8:30am - 12:30pm each Saturday. See more at:

Fiddlesticks Farm Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch 

October & November 

General Admission includes: All 3 Phases of the Corn Maze, Goat Walk, Hay Jump, Sandbox, Tube Slide, Hay Rides, Community Fire Pit, Rodeo Roper, Pumpkin Patch, Corn Hole, Tater Sack Slide, Pig Races, Learning Barn, Milking Demonstrations, Baby Duckling Water Slide, Chick Hatchery, Pumpkin Tether Ball, the Cattle Pot Trailer, Rubber Duck Races, Spider Web, Bouncy Pony Corral.

SCIFRIDAYS: Create From the Black Lagoon 

October 2nd

Doors open and tickets made available at 6 pm, FREE. Seats are limited. First come, first served. 7 pm—Family Viewing (guests with family members 17 and under are welcome)  Enjoy food trucks, family-friendly activities and a very special round of trivia.  9:30 pm—Adult Viewing (guests 18 and over are welcome) Enjoy food trucks, beverages, games, trivia and more!Films begin at 8:15 p.m. but come early for the 7:15 p.m. dome show and star talk! SciFridays are FREE and open to the public, but some age restrictions apply (see film ratings). Snack bar for all ages, beer and wine for 21+. Pink the Basin Motorcycle Ride 

 October 3rd - 9am

Midland Memorial Hospital presents the 4th Annual Pink the Basin Motorcycle Ride for Breast Cancer Awareness. Located at Legacy Harley-Davidson at 12100 W. Hwy 80 East in Odessa. Special appearance by Anita Swift; granddaughter of John Wayne and Philanthropist for John Wayne Cancer Institute. Registration is at 9am, First Group Departs at 10am.  Entry Fee is $20 ($10 for additional rider). Refreshments, BBQ, and T-Shirts.  Raise Your Glass to Honor Our Military

 October 3rd - 6:30pm - 12am

Operation Home is hosting this event for veterans who have PTSD. The event will raise money to help place service dogs with veterans. Located at the CAF (9600 Wright Drive in Midland) on October 3, 2015 from 6:30pm to 12am.  General admission is $25 per person, and a VIP table for 8 can be bought for $400.  Alcohol is free, there will be a silent action, and live music featuring Danny Cadra, Chris Brazeal Band, and Matt Kimbrow Band.  Breast Cancer Awareness Chili & Bar-B-Que Cook-Off

October 10th 

15th Annual Breast Cancer Chili & BBQ Cook-Off benefitting Gifts of Hope, Hope House, and Look Good Feel Good Shop. BBQ: is a state championship and IBCA (International Barbeque Cookers Association) sanctioned. Chili is CASI sanctioned. All cooks are welcome. BBQ cooks chicken, pork spare ribs & brisket. Old Sorehead Trade Days - Stanton 

 October 10th -11th

Old Sorehead Trade Days is the best little show in West Texas (if you can call 615 booths and 30,000 visitors "little"). Stanton hosts Trade Days three times a year, six days of wonderful shopping. Shows are scheduled the second weekend in April, June and October. Shows are Saturdays 9 AM to 6 PM and Sundays Noon to 5 PM. See more at:

 Discover the Dinosaurs

 October 10th - 11th

Discover the Dinosaurs is for the entire family, and especially kids, to explore the mystery of pre-historic life in an environment
of learning, discovery, and fun! Discover the Dinosaurs is a unique hands on exhibit that consists of up to 40 moving and replica museum quality dinosaurs that gives you the opportunity to actually get close and touch the dinosaurs. Beyond the exhibit, additional fun activities are available for kids of all ages, which make spending the day with the dinosaurs a great experience for the entire family. Texas-Size Garage Sale 

 October 16th

This annual event funds 1/3 of all meals delivered to Midland Meals On Wheels clients for the entire year. Through this program the homebound elderly are visited Monday- Friday by a friendly volunteer that checks on the well being of the client and brings a nutritious meal and a smile. Friday admission $3.00 per person, including children, Saturday and Sunday no admission charge. Located at the Meals On Wheels Warehouse (the huge warehouse with the colorful mural) 407 E Scharbauer Drive in Midland. Early Bird Sale Friday, October 16, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 8:30 a.m. -3 p.m. Half Price Sale (Everything must go!) Sunday, October 18, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Individual or group volunteer opportunities! Get community service hours!

 CNB Pancake Breakfast

October 16th - 9am 

CNB will host a Pancake Breakfast to support the United Way of Midland. Stop by our Texas Branch at 401 W. Texas in Midland for some yummy breakfast! The bake sale will start at 9am. 

Saving "True Pairs" Clay Shoot

4TH Annual Saving "True Pairs" Clay Shoot to benefit Pink The Basin! Money raised stays RIGHT HERE in the Permian Basin and is donated to Pink the Basin to provide mammograms for those that can't afford them! PINK PINK PINK! 5th Annual Frontier Days Rodeo & Cow Drop 

October 17th - 18th 

Come enjoy face painting, clowns, bingo, vendors, silent auction, pony rides, and many more rodeo activities on Saturday October 17th. Gates open at 3pm, Rodeo is at 6pm. On Sunday, October 18th, there will be worship service at 9:30am and gates and Smith Mini Bulls will start at 1pm. Sunday Rodeo is at 4pm and Cow Drop is at 6pm. October 23rd 

Join the West Texas Astronomers in Haley Park, behind the Marian Blakemore Planetarium, for an up-close view of the stars in the night sky.  Parties begin at dusk and generally occur one Friday a month, except in summer. Hosted at the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, see more at:

'Over the Edge' Rappelling

October 29th - 9am - 5pm

This year's event will be hosted at our Texas Branch at 401 W. Texas in Midland. The event is open to anyone who can simply raise a minimum of $800 in pledges and is between 110-300 pounds. Whether you are an accomplished climber or a first time rappeller, this event is a thrill of a lifetime. An exclusive event for the Permian Basin, Over the Edge gives participants a life-changing opportunity to rappel 10 stories while raising money for thousands of youth throughout West Texas in the Boy Scout program. - See more at:

October 31st 

Join us for a spook-tacular extravaganza at the Petroleum Museum’s Halloween Tricks & Treats Saturday, October 31st from 6:00-8:00 pm. Create creepy crafts, play games, and experience slimy science experiments. Admission is absolutely free. The Petroleum Museum would like to extend a special thanks to our sponsor, Midland High School Students in Philanthropy, for making this fright fest possible. Be there if you dare!
