 Midland Downtown Farmer's Market

 Saturdays April - October

The mission of the Midland Downtown Farmers' Market is to create a sense of community as well as promote local businesses, artisans, and producers. Our goal is to not only offer an outlet for these products but to also bring the community together for an event that celebrates our local diversity and choice. We congregate in downtown Midland, TX every Saturday from the first Saturday in April until the last Saturday in October. Now located at 1705 W. RTD Skatepark - Free Group Lessons

Want to learn how to skate or just need help landing that new trick? Then join us every Saturday morning from 9am to noon for our FREE group lessons included with every paid admission. Life Before the Dinosaurs Exhibit 

 May 1st - July 26th

Step back in time 290 million years when bizarre-looking creatures dominated life on land and sea to find out about the greatest extinction the world has ever seen. Australia’s Permian Monsters: Life Before the Dinosaurs is coming to Midland.  KOYA-CON - The Permian Basin's Anime Convention

June 26th - 28th 

The Permian Basin's first and only anime convention! Presented in partnership of the West Texas Anime Society and the Midland County Library. Come out and experience the fun of anime, manga, and Japanese culture! There will be: An Artist Alley, Vendor Booths, Cosplay Show, Contest, Panels, Guests, Jpop and Kpop, Anime Viewings, Manga Library, Tabletop Games, Video Games, and Door Prizes. "Planes: Fire & Rescue" Movie Camp at the Petroleum Museum

 Patriotic Band Concert - Traditional Patriotic Music

The Midland Community Band presents a free concert for the community featuring timeless patriotic band selections. We're inside the cool, air conditioned Wagner and Brown auditorium at Midland College. Favorite marches, Americana medleys, ROTC rifle demonstration and more!  Firecracker Fandango - Odessa

July 4th 

6pm - Midnight

Firecracker Fandango is Odessa’s longest-running patriotic street festival and Downtown Odessa, Inc.’s largest fundraiser of the year. This year’s community-wide event is special — we will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Firecracker Fandango. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with an Odessa tradition, the Jaycees Independence Day Parade. Later at 6 p.m., the event gates open. This family-friendly street festival features live entertainment, children’s activities, food booths and much more. Star-Spangled Salute - Midland

 July 4th

5pm-11pm

This year's Star-Spangled Salute will be held at Hogan Park; located at 1201 E. Wadley in Midland.  Admission for the Star-Spangled Salute concert and fireworks celebration is FREE. All "Fun Zone" activities are also free of charge. There will be food and beverages available for purchase. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the celebration!

City of Odessa: Pool Party & Dive-In Movie

The coolest way to beat the heat every summer... Held at the Woodson Aquatic Center at 1020 E. Murphy Rd in Odessa - LEGO Theme Pool Party, Stay Later for the Dive-In Movie "The Lego Movie". The movie starts at dark and will end around 10:30pm. There will be free door-prizes, contests, and dancing, while enjoying the free watermelon.  Tall City Blues Fest

 July 10th-12th

 

This year's Fest will feature 14 public performances, plus one West Texas invitational act that will open the Cimarex Energy Main Stage on Saturday evening. Additionally Tall City Blues Fest will host a Sunday Gospel Brunch on July 12 in partnership with Macedonia Baptist Church co-led by Big Jim Adam and Big Llou Johnson of Sirius/XM Channel 70's B.B. King's Bluesville. 

Tall City Blues Fest 2015 is presented by Mazda of Midland/Odessa and offers both an outdoor and indoor stage showcasing award-winning performers in a family-friendly environment. The Fest also hosts educational workshops in partnership with Midland College, where 100% of the registration proceeds are donated to KIDS' College; conducts a juried silent art auction sponsored by InWest Retirement Solutions, where selected artists receive 70% of the proceeds; holds a midnight spectator jam, presented by Eddie & Debbie Wallace; as well as an autographed memorabilia raffle and a Sunday Gospel Brunch.   See more at: http://www.tallcitybluesfest.com/

San Miguel Arcangel Church Fair 

July 11th-12th 

San Miguel Arcangel Church is having their family fair on July 11th and 12th. They are located at 1100 Camp Street in Midland. There is a raffle with prizes including a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500, Washer and Dryer, $500 Visa Card, Michael Kors Purse, 50" TV, Laptop, iPad, BBQ Pit, His & Hers Spa, and Boy & Girl Bicycles.

Summer Classes are offered to children entering 3rd through 6th grade. The kids will engage in age-appropriate experiments and creative activities focused around a scientific theme. Topics will include petroleum, geology, agriculture, and reptiles. These fun-filled classes will be on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The cost per student is only $20 for Petroleum Museum members or $25 for non-members. See more at: http://petroleummuseum.org/summer-activities/
